Welcome to Smooth Soul Online, the station where smooth meets the soul.
We're a combination soul/jazz station. The "smooth" in our name represents the
Jazz side, and the "soul" refers to the r&b influence. Unlike any other
so-called "urban" station on the planet, we play
classic R&B, Neo-Soul, Motown, and Contemporary Jazz. And, we play them
together, side-by-side. You can think of Smooth
Soul as a Jazz station, with touches of Quiet Storm, which can at times be quite
funky, and always unpredictable. The one thing you can consistently rely
on is a unique blend of exceptional music.
The difference between Smooth Soul and any
other station is very simple: We know the difference...between a singer
and someone who can sing, between someone who looks good holding a microphone
and someone who is gifted and talented, between music that is popular as a
result of hyperbole and music that sounds good as a result of quality
musicianship. Trust me. They are not always the same. If you're really
interested in only the best music....
